Ralph C. Schmidt

  • Bachelor degree in engineering
    at the Technical University of Berlin.

  • Studies in film and media at
    the Academy of Art in Hamburg.

  • Master degree from the National College
    of Art and Design, Oslo, Department of Furniture
    and Interior Design 1986.

  • Worked as an interior architect at
    Arkitetto P. Paris in Rome in 1987

  • Established Schmidt Industrial Design
    in 1988, later Schrei Design as.

  • Worked with the following designers/architects:
    Beate Ellingsen, Svein Gusrud, Sven Ivar Dysthe, Grid Strategic Design, Snøhetta, Aviaplan

  • Guest lecturer at the National College of Art and Design, Oslo.

  • Design manager in Savo since 1996.

  • Head of project and responsible for the design of Savo Ikon, Eos og XO.

Awards:

  • 1st prize in the competition ”Young & Design” in 1988

  • Received the Governmental Invention Scholarship in 1989 and in 1993.

  • Received the Norwegian Design Award in 1996.


Fredrik Torsteinsen 

  • Master degree from the National College of Art and Design, Oslo, Department of Furniture and Interior Design 1992

  • Worked with product development at the Norwegian Institute of Technology for one year, and exhibition architect at the Oslo Museum of Applied Art for one year before working as a freelance furniture- and industiral designer and interior arichitect

  • Established Torsteinsen Design AS in 1997

  • Worked for Savo since 1993

  • Designed Savo Ikon with Svein Gusrud

Awards:

  • Received the Savo award in 1992

  • Honoured “The stand of the year” for Savo at the Office- and computer fair in 1996 and 1998 

  • Received the Norwegian Design Award 5 times; for Savo Visit in 1995

  • Received 5 awards in the competition “Wood without limits” together with Solveig Torsteinsen

  • Received the Nor-in award twice

  • 2nd prize in the Hard Wood Design Competiton together with Solveig Torsteinsen in 1993

  • 1st prize in Hov-Dokka’s Anniversary competition in 1993

  • Norsk Form’s award to young designers in 1993

  • Honourable mention for furniture designed for the Winter Olympic Games, Lillehammer 1994

  • Cultural scholarship from Oslo City

  • Honourable mention in the Governments design competition in 1996

  • Honourable mention in the competition "Plastics – new ways" in 1999

Svein Gusrudd

  • Professor in furniture design at the National College of Art and Design. Have been teaching at the Institute of interior architecure and furniture design since 1979.

  • Guest professor at design colleges abroad

  • Practicing furniture design 

  • Working for Savo with various design projects

  • Designed Savo Ikon with Fredrik Torsteinsen

Awards:

  • The Jacob-prize in 1986

  • The SAS’ Export Pioneer prize

  • Norwegian Design Award four times

  • Nor-in prize

  • 1st prize in the Foreign Ministry’s competition for chair to the Norwegian pavilion at Expo-92 in Sevilla

  • 1st prize in Hov-Dokka’s Anniversary competition



Jurek Buchacz

  • Master degree in industrial design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Crakow 1974

  • Industrial designer for DEFA 1976-1978

  • Industrial designer for Ring Mekanikk 1978-1983

  • Established Creo Produktkonsult in
    1983, working mainly with office chairs
    and office furniture (tables).

  • Worked for Savo since 1983

  • Designer of the models Savo Euros 50, Eos, Apollo, Astarte, Augustus and XO.

Awards:

  • Received the Norwegian Design Award for Savo Euros 50-series

  • Received the Nor-in award for chair+table for home office in 1985

  • Won competition organized by the Lillehammer Olympic Organizing Committee in 1992

  • Designer of the official olympic chair for the Winter Olympic Games, Lillehammer 1994

Tor Gunnar Lundenes

  • Master degree from the National College of Art and Design, Oslo, Department of Furniture and Interior Design in 1986.

  • Established Lundenes Design in 1986.

  • Worked for Savo with Savo Ikon, Savo XO and Studio 32.

  • Also worked with Dysthe Industridesign, Peter Opsvik, Svein Gusrud, Møremøbler (Fora Form), Stokke Industrier, Hove Møbler, Håg, NCP, Lamtech, Grip Engineering.

Awards:

  • Won the Norwegian Furniture and Interior Producers Organisation’s one year design scholarship in 1989 .

  • Price winner/awards in Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka for product excellence at “Architects Exhibition” in 1997, for best product at “Techno Exhibition” in 1998, for best locally manufactured product at “Techno Exhibition” in 1999, and for best collection at “Business, Home & Safety Exhibition” in 2000.
