Savo celebrates 80 years with ‘Sit. Dot. Move.’ at 3daysofdesign

In a world where sitting is often overlooked as a passive, habitual act, Sit. Dot. Move. asks us to reconsider: what does it really mean to design for the way we sit and the way we work?

Join us as Savo celebrates 80 years of innovation in office seating, and explore the brand’s evolution of ergonomics, aesthetics and movement in the modern workplace at this year’s 3daysofdesign festival in Copenhagen.

Designed and curated in collaboration with Copenhagen-based architecture studio, Archival Studies, Sit. Dot. Move. reflects on the past, present and future of workplace seating, all through the lens of Savo’s enduring design philosophy.

Meet the team behind the exhibition, hear from both Savo and Archival Studies, and explore how thoughtful design continues to shape the way we sit.

80 years of Savo

At the heart of Sit. Dot. Move. is a milestone: Savo’s 80th anniversary. This exhibition is not just a reflection but a celebration of what movement, design and human-centred thinking can achieve across generations.

We have traced the brand’s journey in a visual timeline that shows eight decades of innovation. It’s a space to pause, look back and move forward.

Throughout the exhibition visitors will recognise a recurring dot element. It’s a quiet visual thread that connects Savo’s legacy across eight decades of motion and form. We will be showcasing the full portfolio of Savo’s seating, revealing how principles like modularity, comfort, and sustainability have shaped designs over the years.

Savo’s guided breakfast sessions

Each morning begins with Savo’s guided breakfast sessions – informal conversations hosted by Savo’s CEO, Craig Howarth. With local pastries from a nearby bakery, these gatherings offer a personal look into the people, ideas, and philosophies that have shaped Savo over the past 80 years – from early steel-made objects to today’s ergonomic innovations. Guests will have guided access to the exhibition, and can test products firsthand. These sessions also look ahead at Savo’s bold commitments that reflect its future vision – a continuous evolution shaped by insight, design, and human-centred thinking.

Interactive activity & library of books

Beyond the products, the exhibition invites visitors to engage with interactive activity on sitting habits, the culture of seating and ergonomic patterns. A curated library of books on seating, design and the modern workplace – including the first Savo’s 80th Anniversary Publication, featuring essays and histories from Savo thought leaders – acts as a physical archive which reimagines the library as an act of sitting itself.
