Choosing the right chair for conference rooms and meeting rooms

Are you furnishing a large conference room or smaller meeting room? Whether the room must be formal or informal in nature, you can create a personal, welcoming and professional meeting room with comfortable furniture.

Design the meeting room with a table that suits the size and shape of the room and the number of participants. Because sitting uncomfortably through long meetings can lead to stiffness and a lack of focus in participants, adjustable, comfortable chairs are absolutely essential. They must be ergonomic to sit in for short or long periods alike and must encourage active sitting. Choose chairs that combine just the right balance between ergonomics and aesthetics to create a stylish yet functional meeting room. Conference chairs with covered armrests in fabric, hide or leather add a touch of exclusivity to the room. Choose from our many fabrics to decide whether the chairs should add colour to your room, or if they should have discrete, unobtrusive colours.

Chairs for every kind of meeting room and any kind of meeting

Because we know conference rooms often differ widely, we have meeting chairs in a range of sizes, shapes and functions. Savo Invite, Savo Soul with metal armrests and Savo Soul with mesh are three chairs ideally suited for meetings and conference rooms. Savo Invite is available with 5-star chair bases with casters or glides and with mesh backs and covered arm rests. All Savo Soul variants control rocking resistance automatically and provide the best support for each position without having to adjust back height. Savo Soul with metal armrests combines comfort and exclusivity. The arm supports are available upholstered in fabric or leather, or without upholstery. Savo Soul with mesh provides an airy feel that is great for long meetings.

Do you have a particular design philosophy?

Our work at LundbergDesign is characterised by Scandinavian simplicity. I find combinations of different materials exciting and I like to create contrasts between different materials and surface treatments.

What’s important when designing a chair?

Working according to a clear brief and hitting what you’re aiming at in the chair – its shape, purpose and functions, and ensuring a good interplay between these aspects.

‘Tomorrow’s office chair should work a bit like a smartphone. It should be intuitive, easy to use and suit everyone. And it must have feeling. That was our starting point with Savo Soul. Simplicity was our guiding principle all the way, and while ergonomics and quality were given top priority, we made sure not to lose Savo’s soul. A real challenge, whose outcome I look upon with pride today!’

Olle Lundberg, designer Savo Soul

What were your thoughts when designing Savo Soul?

The basic idea was to create a smart office chair that could be adapted to the customer’s needs. Which is why it comes in so many variants with a range of accessories and versions. For example, it’s available with a mesh back or with fabric-covered armrests. Savo Soul is a multi-functional chair that meets the requirements demanded by major procurements. It has a more complex, technical expression because of the many features integrated into the design.

Tell us about the new Savo 360!

Savo 360 is designed to express simplicity, a unique design and flexibility. Its circular shape helps it blend easily into different settings without demanding too much visual space. The goal was to create a simple, attractive chair whose design works as a crossover between different applications and suitable for use as a chair for the office, meeting room or lounge.

Savo Maxikon: Extra high back and maximum comfort

Savo Maxikon is an impressive chair and a classic in the Savo range. Savo Maxikon has an extra-high backrest and comes in three models. All variants can be supplied with a 5-star base in black or polished aluminium. The honest, intuitive design is inspired by functionality and simplicity. Were Savo Maxikon a car, it would be an Italian sports car with high crash safety! Maxikon is ideal for people who want a top-flight designer chair that can also be adjusted to meet every conceivable need for personal customisation. The chair\u2019s setting controls are located logically. This means seat depth, seat height and back height controls are located precisely where you would expect them to be, and can be adjusted while you are seated. Armrests, headrest and other accessories are easily fitted and removed if necessary without using tools.

Sit easy and enjoy a comfortable support all day long

Savo Maxikon has no unnecessary components and is made entirely without screws. Fewer parts make the manufacturing process more eco-friendly and its materials are mainly recyclable plastic and aluminium. The steel springs are made of flat steel, a feature that enhances the overall aesthetic impression. As with the rest of our office chairs, Savo Maxikon is equipped with a multi-dynamic mechanism that allows seat and back to follow your movements independently of each other. Design your Maxikon just the way you want it with fabric or leather upholstery. Choose a standard seat or the Vikon® seat, which is 50 per cent thicker and adapts naturally to the shape of your body.
